OCR: BEA WebLogic Enterprise Standards Support CORBA 2.0-Compliant (integrated with Visibroker); supports IOP, EJB 1.1, supports RMI over Tengah (T3). Protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, RMI. Servlets, and JSP are directly supported by the wLX Web container environment, RMVIOP is supported by the WLE client and EJB containers, HICP is sup- ported by the WLE CORBA container. El8 1.1, Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) 1.1.2, JDBC 2.0 Standard Extension API (allowing JDBC connection pooling). WLE also provides support for the distributed transaction subset of the JDBC 2.0 Standard Extension API. This feature allows XA-com- pliant databases to be used with JDBC connections. Java Transaction API (JTA) 1.01 API (the XAResource interface Is optional in J2EE and is not supported in the current WLE release), JTS/OTS, and JavalDE. Object/Relational Mapping Object Builder tool1 (Gul) for object'relational mapping. Data Dictionary Reader tool (command line) for Oracle and Sybase Shared Cache Yes Transaction Support Supports JTS and CORBA OTS (only implicit transactions and its OTS interfaces are not exposed to the developer); well inte- grated with Tuxedo; BEA eLink for mainframes provides inte- gration with CICS or IMS TM application comportents. Persistence Support Supports both CORBA and EJB container-managed persis- tence. Does not support a persistence framework but the TP framework provides callback methods that can be used to implement a pers stence framework. Methods can be defined for activation and deactivation of objects for managing state when an object is loaded and when it is flushed (committed) respectively. Four activation deactivation policies are support- ed: method, transaction, application control, and process. Supports storing of relationships. Connection Pooling Yes (via JOBC) Multi-threaded Server Yes Administration Administrative Console administers deployed EJBs and alows administrator to lock at EJB transaction, deployment, and Java Bean information. It also lets the administrator check EJB classes, interfaces, and state, and displays database informa- tion including the number of active connections, the size of connection pool, and what kinds of events are published. The WebLogic Console can manage multiple servers as a group, and it provides information at the application rather than the object level, alowing entre applications to be started or stopped. WebLogic also provides administration capabilities through a configuration file and Unix-style command line interfaces. which is convenient for very large configurations (though harder to use, especially for beginners). Security Supports SSL 3.0 (does not support SSL 2.0). Any RMI cfent using TS or any Web client using an HTTP or HIOP request can be authenticated using SSL. Implements the JDK 1.1 Inter- faces for Principal, Group, Permission, ACL, and ACLEntry. Load Balancing Yes: Round-robin and random Failover Yes; only stateless servers Platform Support WLE'S CORBA C++ Server is supported on HP-UX 10.20 and 11.0 (32-bit), Solaris Sparc 2.6, and Solaris Sparc 7, NT 4.0 on Alpha, NT 4.0 in Intel, IBM AIX 4.3.2. Sequent Dynix 4.4.2. Compaq Tru64 Unix 4.0a (formerly Digital Und), and SGI IRIX 6.5. WLE'S CORBA Java server is supported on Solaris Sparc 2.6. Solaris Sparc 7, and NT 4.0 on Intel.
